NASA isang kilo ng morpina, isang high potent painkiller na ginagamit na rin sa giyera para sa mga sugatang sundalo, ang nasabat ng mga kasapi ng anti-illegal drug interdiction task group, sa pangunguna ng Bureau of Customs at Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency sa Port of Clark noong Martes.
Ayon sa ulat na nakarating sa tanggapan nina BOC Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno at maging kay PDEA Director General USEC Isagani Nerez, halos isang kilo ng morphine, hemp gummies at capsules ang nasabat ng Interdiction Task Group.
Tinatayang nasa 994 grams ng hinihinalang morphine at assorted suspected hemp products ang nasabat ng anti-narcotics operatives sa magkahiwalay na interdiction operations sa Port of Clark noong Martes.
Kabilang sa mga nagsasagawa ng joint interdiction operations ang Clark International Airport Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (Clark AIADITG) na binubuo ng mga operatiba ng PDEA Airport Interdiction Unit (PDEA AIU), PDEA Pampanga Provincial Office, Bureau of Customs (BOC) – Port of Clark, NBI Pampanga District Office, PNP Aviation Security Unit 3 at PNP PDEG SOU3.
Unang nasabat ang shipment na naglalaman ng suspected morphine mula sa England at dumating sa Port of Clark noong Enero 9, 2026 at naharang ito bandang alas-10:52 ng umaga sa isinagawang routine inspection procedures.
“Morphine is a powerful and effective pain reliever but is classified as a dangerous drug due to its high potential for abuse, dependency, and serious side effects, including life-threatening respiratory depression and death. Any attempt to smuggle this substance into the country poses a serious threat to public health and safety,” ani PDEA Director General Isagani R. Nerez.
Sumunod na naharang ng mga operatiba ang parcel na naglalaman ng assorted suspected hemp products na nagmula naman sa Wilmington, United States na dumating sa Port of Clark noong Enero 6, 2026.
Nakapaloob dito ang 100 pieces ng suspected hemp gummies, 180 gel capsules, at 60 capsules. Ang hemp ay isang uri ng cannabis plant na nagtataglay ng tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), na responsable sa psychoactive effects ng marijuana.
Ang dalawang bagahe ay minarkahan matapos na maalerto ng PDEA Narcotics Detection Dog (NDD), na kumukumpirma sa presensya ng dangerous drugs.
Hawak na ngayon ng PDEA National Headquarters Laboratory Service ang mga nasamsam na items para sa forensic examination and confirmatory testing.
